Acts 4:13-21 | Ps. 118:1, 14-15, 16-21 | Mk. 16:9-15
Mark gives us a series of Jesus’ appearances today. He tells us that He appeared to Mary Magdalene, the two walking to Emmaus, and finally to the eleven. Mark also records that when Mary Magdalene and the two on the road told the apostles, they did not believe. Jesus upbraids them for their lack of belief. Then, He commissions them to go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News. We see that Peter and John did just that in the reading from Acts. When the chief priests, etc., warn them not to preach in Jesus’ name any longer, Peter and John tell them that that is impossible. They are so convinced of their work that no threat can keep them from sharing Jesus with the world.
How convinced are you about the Good News of Jesus? Do you share it with all the world? Do you continue to share the Word despite criticism from others? Make up your mind to do so today. Ask Jesus for the courage of Peter and John to help you do so.
