Tuesday of Holy Week

Is. 49:1-6 : Ps. 71:1-6, 15, 17 | John 13:21-33, 36-38

Today’s Gospel places the somber truth before us.  Jesus tells us about Judas’ betrayal and Peter’s denial.   We stand in judgment and are horrified that either could do what they did.  In fact, all of us who have sinned have done so.  Put yourself into this scene and try to understand what Jesus must have been feeling knowing that all who were with him would run away because of fear.   Fear would override their love.

Be with Jesus in this time of great sorrow.  Share your feelings with Jesus.  Allow this moment to penetrate your being. How are you affected by this prayer?
