Feast St. Bernard

Readings: Ez. 36:23-28 | Ps. 51:12-15, 18-19 | Mt. 22:1-14

God reminds the Israelites that they will be saved and brought back to newness through the Savior. God promises to give them a new heart and a new spirit. The covenant that God made will be fulfilled. The Gospel reminds us that God intends that we be with God in Heaven. The invitation has been given and Heaven will be filled. Those who refuse the invitation will be replaced by others. The correct clothing is the clothing received by living a good life and doing good works for others. God will provide for us on this journey. Openness to God’s new workings is important.

Spend time in prayer and allow God to give you new insights and a new heart. Give thanks for these gifts as well as all other gifts you have been given.
