2Tim. 1:1-8 | Ps. 96:1-3, 7-8a, 10 | Mk. 4:26-34
Paul's letter to Timothy reminds him of his great heritage that has been given to him through his grandparents, etc. Paul likewise reminds Timothy that the gift he has been given through the laying on of hands is a great gift to be used as he ministers to the people. The Gospel tells the story of the seed and its growth. Once the seed is sewn, we don’t really see the growth until it comes above the ground. The mustard seed is a small seed and one would think it would become a small plant, but instead it grows into a large plant that produces great fruit. This is how those who teach the word of God spread the Word all over the world and it spreads further and further around the world. We see this in the work of the Apostles and their followers, Timothy and Titus.
Let us think about and pray with these staunch men and ask God to give us the ability to spread the word of God in all ways.
