Prv. 31: 10-13, 19-20, 30-31 | Ps. 128:1-5 | 1Thes. 5: 1-6 | Mt. 25:14-30
The readings this month lead us to consider the end times and especially what is needed to enter heaven. Paul tells us that there is a time for everything; and that we should always be prepared because we do not know the day or the hour. We have found that out through the surprise events of 9/11/01. Jesus teaches us to use whatever gifts we have been given for the good of others. It matters not whether I have five, two, or one talent. What matters is that I appreciate what has been given to me and then use it for others. We will be held accountable no matter what.
As we come close to the end of this Church year, reflect on the gifts you have been given. How well do you use your gifts? How might you use them better? Who might be in need of your services through the use of your talents. Give with a generous heart.
