Col. 2:6-15 | Ps. 145:1-2, 8-11 | Lk. 6:12-19
The first reading continues to call the Colossians to a deep commitment to Christ. He reminds them of all that Christ has done for them to redeem them from their sins. The author continues to remind them of their Baptismal call. Jesus is calling His disciples. He chooses the twelve men who will carry on His teachings and help to spread the Good News throughout the Kingdom. People see Jesus and bring the sick to Him to be healed; because they know He is a good man whose power goes out to all who come to Him.
Each day we are called anew to listen to God’s Word and to respond to it fully. We are called by God to bring goodness, kindness, and the Word of God to each person with whom we come in contact. God will supply all that we need. Take time to listen to Christ’s call today. What will your response be?
