Col. 3:1-11 | Ps. 145:2-3, 10-13 | Lk. 6:20-26
The readings call us to examine our lives. What is it that is the main driving force in what we do? Jesus delivers the beatitudes and calls us to be considerate of others and their needs. He tells us that it is more important to help those who are poor, suffer injustice, and are in need of shelter than it is to have great wealth and notoriety. This is what Paul is reiterating when he calls us to put aside ourselves and to put on Christ. We will be blessed greatly if we put aside our own selfish gains and work towards helping those who have no one to help them.
Pause to reflect on the beatitudes. How do you live these in your life? In what ways can you continue to do so? How can you influence others to do so?
