1Tim3:1-13 | Ps. 101:1-3, 5-6 | Lk 7:11-17
The author of Timothy speaks about the qualifications of any person who desires to be a leader in the church. He is speaking directly to Timothy; but, we are also invited to practice the qualities which are needed to be kind, compassionate people who will help those for whom we are responsible. Jesus shows how His gifts were used for healing. He also has a great gift of compassion. Jesus came to bring us life; and, so anytime we are not living fully, Jesus comes to supply our needs. Jesus saw the widow and recognized her pain. He lost no time in reaching out and healing her.
All of us have gifts. We have many gifts and use them accordingly. All of us are called to see the needy and to have compassion. Who are the people in your life who need your compassion? How open are you to the surprises of life? Jesus was surprised and interrupted by the woman of Nain. Are you willing to be open to those who come to you today? Be open to all whom you encounter today. Bring Christ to them.
