1Tim, 6:13-16 | Ps. 100: 1-5 | Lk.8:4-15
Jesus tells us the parable of the sower who went out to sow seed. If you have ever planted a garden, you know it is difficult to get all the seed to fall in the correct area. The same is true for teachers, parents, and those who try to bring the Word to others. Planting the Word is not the most difficult part. The lesson has to be taught in many ways to ensure that all will hear and understand. Follow up and practice are essential steps. If the lesson falls on deaf ears, then the message is not heard and will not be learned. Christ invites us to tend the garden of our hearts and to be open so that what He teaches us will be heard, understood, practiced, and finally carried out with ease.
What kind of soil do you have? How willing are you to carry out the Word? Ask for the grace of a listening and responding heart.
