Dn. 7:9-10, 13-14 | Ps. 138:1-5 | Jn. 1:47-51

Today we celebrate the feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Rafael.  Recently, we listened to the story of Tobias who was assisted by Rafael in obtaining a cure for his father.  We know the story of Gabriel’s appearance to Mary telling her that she was to be the Mother of God.  Michael is known as the angel who fought Satan and banned him from Heaven.  We know that angels are messengers from God.  This is what both readings teach us.  The past few years, we have heard a great deal about angels.  It is/was “cool” to believe in angels.  All of us are given help to enable us to see God’s ways and to do the right, the good, the just.  This help can be seen as the aid coming from the angels.

Have you considered how you have been helped by the messengers of God?  We have no reason to worry about the attacks of the devil.  We are supported constantly by the angels.  Pause to consider all the times you have been inspired to do some good, to behave in a positive manner, etc.  Give thanks to God for His help.  Thank the angels for their help, also.
