Christmas Day

Is. 52:7-10 | Ps. 98:1-6 | Heb. 1:1-6 |Jn. 1:1-18

Happy Christmas!  May this day be filled with the blessings of our Incarnate Lord!  Naturally all the readings refer to Christ.  Isaiah is telling us what it will be like when the Messiah comes.  Peace will come, the Good News of God will be heard throughout the land. Jerusalem will be redeemed and all the earth will see the salvation of the Lord.  Paul tells us that Christ is the one spoken about through all the prophets.  He will be a reflection of the Father’s being.  Christ is the One who God called: “My beloved, Son,…”  John talks about Christ as the Word of God who was in God’s presence in the beginning and will remain until the end.  It is through and in Christ that all have their source and continue to have life.  John continues to say: “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we have seen his glory: The glory of the only Son coming from the Father filled with enduring love.”

It is Christ who is every word expressed above.  Christ came in humility to allow His light to shine on all people and all times.  He taught us how to live, to love, to enjoy life, to follow His way to His Father.

Today picture the scene of the birth of Jesus.  Be present there and talk to Christ to find out how to respond to God and to love God and allow yourself to be loved in return.  Give God all you are today and allow God to fill you fully with God’s love.
