Consecrating our Diocesan Family to Mary, Our Lady of La Leche

Obtain Knowledge of Jesus Christ

During this period we shall apply ourselves to the study of Jesus Christ. What is to be studied in Christ Jesus? First the mystery of God-made-Man, His grace and glory; then His desire to walk with us on the road of true life; since, through the sacrament of baptism and our renunciation of Satan and his empty show, we have taken Jesus Christ for our Lord. The next object of our study is His exterior actions and also His interior life; namely,
the virtues and acts of His Sacred Heart; His closeness with Mary in the Mysteries of the Annunciation and Incarnation, during His infancy and hidden life, at the wedding feast of Cana, and on the long hard road to Mount Calvary.

Ave Maris Stella
Hail, O Star of the Sea,
God’s own Mother blest,
ever sinless Virgin,
gate of heav’nly rest.
Taking that sweet Ave,
which from Gabriel came,
peace confirm within us,
changing Eve’s name.
Break the sinners’ fetters,
make our blindness day,
Chase all evils from us,
for all blessings pray.
Show yourself a Mother,
may the Word divine,
born for us your Infant,
hear our prayers through yours.
Virgin all excelling,
mildest of the mild,
free from guilt preserve us,
meek and undefiled.
Keep our life all spotless,
make our way secure,
till we find in Jesus,
joy for evermore.
Praise to God the Father,
honor to the Son,
in the Holy Spirit,
be the glory one.

“Jesus is our only Master, who teaches us; our only Lord, on whom we ought to depend; our only Head, to whom we must belong; our only Model, to whom we should conform ourselves; our only Physician, who can heal us; our only Shepherd, who can feed us; our only Way, who can lead us; our only Truth, who can make us grow; our only Life, who can animate us; and our only All in all things, who can truly satisfy us.” (From True Devotion to Mary by Saint Louis de Montfort, #61-#62)
“By Jesus Christ, with Jesus Christ, in Jesus Christ, we can do all things; we can give all honor and glory to the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit; we can become perfected ourselves, and be to our neighbors true friends on the road of eternal life.” (From True Devotion Mary, #61-#62)
“If, then, we establish solid devotion to our Blessed Lady, it is only to establish more perfectly devotion to Jesus Christ, and to put forward an easy and secure means for finding Jesus Christ.” (From True Devotion Mary, #61-#62)

“What good does it do to speak learnedly about the Trinity if, lacking humility, you displease the Trinity? Indeed it is not learning that makes a
man holy and just, but a virtuous life makes him pleasing to God. I would rather feel contrition than know how to define it. For what would it profit us to know the whole Bible by heart and the principles of all the philosophers if we live without grace and the love of God?” (From the Imitation of Christ, Book 1, Chapter 1)

Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and agitated. Then he said to them, “I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me.” And going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not what I want but what you want.” Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, “So, could you not stay awake with me one hour? Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again he went away for the second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, your will be done.” Again he came and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. So leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words. Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? See, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let us be going. See, my betrayer is at hand.” (Matthew 26:36-46)
“Trusting in Your goodness and great mercy, O Lord, I come as one sick to the Healer, as one hungry and thirsty to the Fountain of life, as one in need to the King of heaven, a servant to his Lord, a creature to his Creator, a soul in desolation to my gentle Comforter.” (From the Imitation of Christ, Book 4, Chapter 2)
“We must do our actions IN Mary. Thoroughly to understand this practice , we must know, first, that our Blessed Lady is the true earthly paradise of the new Adam, and that the ancient paradise was but an anticipation of Mary. There are, then, in this earthly paradise, riches, beauties, rarities, and sweetnesses, which Jesus Christ, the new Adam, has left there; it was in this paradise that He grew for nine months in Mary’s womb, worked His wonders, and displayed His riches with divine magnificence.” (From True Devotion Mary, #261-#265)
O Jesus Living in Mary
O Jesus living in Mary,
Come and live in Your servants,
In the spirit of Your holiness,
In the fullness of Your strength,
In the truth of Your virtues,
In the perfection of Your ways,
In the communion of Your mysteries;
Subdue every hostile power
In Your Spirit, for the glory of the Father.
