Feast of St. Angela Merici
Heb. 10:32-39 | Ps. 37:3-6, 23-24, 39-40 | Mk. 4:26-34
The reading from Hebrews reminds us to remain steadfast and confident that all that God has promised us will be fulfilled. We may have a time of suffering; but, we are asked to remember that we will have a better and lasting treasure when we die. Jesus uses the farmer as an example for this idea. The farmer sows seeds in the ground and does what he is capable of doing by watering and fertilizing the ground. The seed, in the meantime, grows in ways which cannot be seen. As the season continues, the seed grows into a full plant and produces fruit. Likewise, the seed of God has been planted in our soul. We are called to allow that seed to grow by accepting God’s graces. These graces, in time, will nurture our faith until it blossoms into full plants. God will always be with us. We need to remain with God.
Pause to consider how you allow God to work in your life. How will you remain faithful to God’s precious call to you? Talk to God about the difficulties as well as the joys you experience
