Friday of Christmas Time

Readings: 1Jn. 5:5-13 | Ps. 147:12-15, 19-20 | Lk. 5:12-16

John tells us that Jesus is the Son of God. This cannot be disputed because God, the Spirit, has proclaimed this to be. Whoever has the Son has life. Those who do not possess the Son do not possess life.

A leper approaches Jesus. He states: “Lord if you choose, you can make me clean.” Jesus’ response is that He does choose to do so. The leper is cleaned/healed. Once again, we see that someone has proclaimed their belief in Jesus and is healed. Jesus’ love is beyond all thought and His desire is that all of us are made whole. We are called to believe in Jesus as John tells us. We cannot rely on ourselves, and we must likewise go off to private areas and pray. We are called to follow Jesus’ example.

Do you believe in Jesus’ power to heal? Do you want to be made whole? Ask Jesus to do so. Remember to express your gratitude in prayer. Find a place and a time to do so.
