Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

Mi. 2:1-5 | Ps. 10:1-4, 7-8, 14 | Mt. 12:14-21

We see Jesus at conflict with the Pharisees.  Jesus cures many people and tells them not to tell others.  He does this because He does not want too many people to be seeking after Him for His gifts of healing instead of God who is the giver of all gifts.  Jesus is compared to the prophecy of  Isaiah about the “chosen servant.”

“ I shall place my spirit upon him, he will proclaim justice to the gentiles…a bruised reed he will not break, a smoldering wick he will not quench, until he brings justice to victory.  And in his name the Gentiles will hope.”

Jesus did fulfill these prophecies and brought about salvation for all, including ourselves, the Gentiles who hope in Him.

Take time today to place all your hope in Jesus.  Give your problems, your concerns, your desires into the hands of Jesus.  Trust that Jesus will take care of all of them.  Give thanks to God for all that God has done for you.
