Tuesday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Mi. 7:14-15, 18-20 | Ps. 85: 2-8 | Mt. 12:46-50
We hear Micah tell about God’s great compassion, love and forgiveness for the people. Micah speaks of God as the Shepherd of the people. Jesus, who is called the Good Shepherd, teaches us what it means to be considered a member of His family. One who does the will of the father is considered, a mother, father, brother or sister of Jesus. How do we know what is God’s will? We do it through listening to and following the Word that is spoken by God in scripture, through prayer, and following the commandments. This sounds easy yet it requires consistent living with faithfulness.
Mary, Jesus’ Mother, was all of the above. Ask her for the grace to do all for God’s love and concern. Begin to listen attentively to all that God’s speaks through the scriptures.
