Feast of St. Mary Magdalene
Sg 3:1-4a | 2 Cor.5:14-17 | Ps. 63:2-6, 8-9 | Jn 20:1-2, 11-18
The readings for today, the Feast of St. Mary Magdalene, tell us about the deep love Mary Magdalene had for Jesus. The Song of Songs is an apropos reading for today. Mary has been converted by Jesus and her love is overwhelming. She wants to be present to Him at all times.
The Gospel relates Mary’s going to the tomb early Sunday morning. She does not find Jess. She meets the person who believe is the gardener but after He calls her by name, she knows that He is Jesus. God calls our name every day. Do we take the time to listen so we can hear His call? Jesus is tender, loving and caring. We are invited to follow Him and to bring Him to the world. How will you do so today? Take time to listen to Jesus.
