Feast of St. Thomas, the Apostle

Eph. 2:19-22 | Ps. 117:1-2 | John 20:24-29

John tells us that we are citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, which is built upon the foundation of Christ as the cornerstone. It is in Christ that we are being built into a dwelling place for God. In the Gospel, we hear Christ calling Thomas to move beyond physical sight to seeing with the eyes of faith. He assures us that if we do, we will be built into that dwelling place for God. How many times we waiver in our faith! Those times occur whenever we are dong something new and are being called to trust God in the tasks of the moment. Today God calls us to trust that God is with us no matter what we are undergoing. God calls us to believe in His presence and undying love.

Ask God for the grace to believe in God’s presence and to trust in His loving care. When doubt arises, call upon God to help you remain faithful.
