Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Lam. 2:2, 10-14, 18-19 | Ps. 74:1-7, 20-21 | Lk 2:41-51
The first reading comes from a time period when the Jewish people were being persecuted and they were being told that there was no relief for them. As a result, the prophet calls out and responds to the people’s cry for help. The Gospel also relates a time of great distress for Mary and Joseph the stories of those in distress. Jesus comes to their aid and cures them. God is a God of compassion and God will come to the aid of all who call out to God. Thus when we are in need, we should remember to call out to God to take care of us.
The first step is to realize that we depend on God for all we need. We must ask God for what we need. God will help us out.
Take time today to let God take care of you. Talk to God, depend on God, and God will provide.
