Acts 28:16-20, 30-31 | Ps. 11:4-5, 7 | John 21:20-25
Paul is in Rome where he is brought to trial before the Roman rulers. He is writing to the people to explain that he is on trial and tells them not to be concerned because he is guided by God. His belief is firm. Peter asks Jesus what is to happen to John. Jesus responds rather matter of factly: “What is that to you?” In other words, Peter should only be worried about “following Jesus.” That is what Jesus is calling all of us to do. Follow Him. If we do so, we will be gifted by the Holy Spirit with all we need as Peter, Paul and Jesus were.
What do you think of when you hear the words: “Follow Me?” Do you hear the words as spoken to you? What will you need from God to follow in the path of Christ? Place yourself, with all the trust you can muster up, in the hands of Jesus. Trust Jesus completely to lead you to the Father. You will not be alone.
