Feast of St. Cyril of Jerusalem

Is. 1:10, 16-20 | Ps 50: 8-9, 16-17 21, 23 | Mt. 23:1 -12

Isaiah is calling the people to a change of heart.  Start to look upon people with love.  Forgive and release them from bondage.  We are called to change our heart, treat others justly and with compassion.  Jesus calls the apostles to do the same.  He is upset with the Pharisees because they look for praise and high places.  They preach one thing yet do another.  Jesus calls the apostles to be humble and to recognize that no one is greater than another.  We are called to be servants to others.  We are to lift their burdens, help them in time of need, and recognize that what we have we have received from God.

Spend time with Jesus and ask for the grace to act in the manner in which you preach or teach.  Today, do something to make the life of someone else better.
