Friday of the Third Week of Lent

Hosea 14:2-10 | Ps. 81:6-11, 14, 17 | Mk. 12:28b-34

Jesus is teaching us the foundation of living in the kingdom.  That is, to love God above all things and then to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Hosea is also reminding the Israelites that God is to come first in their lives.  When we put God first in all we do, our lives will be blessed.  What is the most important thing you do each day? Is it spending a few minutes with God in prayer?  Is it work?  Is it procuring more money?

Take time to figure this out.  Where do you spend most of your time and energy each day? Your response will give you some insight into the question of who or what is most important to you.  What might God be calling you to do about this?  Make a plan to do so.  Remind yourself each day to do this act.  Put a note on your bathroom mirror, your refrigerator, etc. as a way to help    you remember.  At the end of Lent look back to see where or how you changed
