Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

Is. 50:4-7 | Ps. 22:8-9, 17-24 | Phil. 2:6-11 | Mark 14:1-15:47

Today we begin Holy Week which is the greatest week of the Church year and culminates in the celebrations of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. This is a solemn week and a time to spend with God in a special way. Take time each day this week to be with God in prayer. Isaiah tells us about the passion of Christ and how He emptied himself to become a slave for us, and humbled Himself and was obedient to God. Paul echoes this and reminds us that we should recognize Jesus by confessing Him as Lord. The Gospel of Mark shows how Jesus was led to his death in obedience to God out of deep love for us.

How will you show your appreciation for this great love? How can you spend time each day, alone, or with your family in prayer and gratitude? Try to attend the services on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil.
