Monday of Holy Week
Is. 42:1-7 | Ps. 27:1-3, 13-14 | John 12:1-117
Isaiah reminds us of the mission of Jesus. He is the servant of God, God’s chosen One. Jesus has come to bring forth justice on the earth. Jesus is shown at the home of Lazarus. Mary anoints his feet, but Judas is upset because he wants the money. Jesus tells him to leave Mary alone. She is right in anointing him. Mary recognizes Jesus’s presence and shows her deep love and concern for Jesus. Her hospitality is appropriate and full of compassion.
Today, consider the hospitality you show towards those with whom you live. Do you recognize them as God’s beloved? How can you treat them better? What good deed will you do to show compassion for them?
