Friday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Sir. 44:1, 9-13 | Ps 149:1-6a, 9b | Mk. 11:11-26
Sirach tells us that all those who do good are remembered for years to come. Jesus supports this when He cleanses the temple of those who desecrate it by selling goods there. We see this in the symbol of the fig tree which Jesus curses it because it doesn’t bear fruit. We are called through these readings to be people of honor: people who know what to do and live accordingly. We are called to be faithful to God’s teaching and live as we have been taught. We are called to live and to bring the Good News to others.
As you live this day, be conscious of all you do. Be conscious about the manner in which you accept Jesus’s joy during this Resurrection time. Bring this joy of Christ to each person you meet.
