Feast of Sts. Philip and James, Apostles
1Cor 15:1-8 | Ps. 19:2-5 | John 14:6-14
Paul is calling upon the Corinthians to follow Christ as he has. Jesus, talking to the apostles, calls them to follow Him as He has followed the Father. Jesus tells them that He is the way, the truth, and the life. Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father. Jesus responds by telling them that if they have seen Him, then they have seen the Father because He and the Father are one. We are also called to follow Jesus believing fully that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. If we do so, we will not fall astray. Jesus promises that He will be with us always and will give us whatever we ask for in His name. It is important for us to check out to see if we follow the Way, Truth, and Life of Jesus.
Do you live by the Way of Christ? Are there distractions which keep you from following the path of Christ? Today, look at your life to examine it. Don’t look for big examples. Check out your faithfulness in small daily tasks. Ask Jesus for the grace to remain faithful in these small tasks.
