Rv: 21: 9b- 14 | Ps. 145: 10-13b, 17-18 | Jn. 1:45-51
When Jesus sees Nathaniel coming towards him he says: “... There is no duplicity in him.” This is a wonderful statement to be able to say about anyone. Jesus is somehow laying the call to honesty in front of us to be what we say we are and to do what we say we will do. God, Abba, is the best example we can come up with about being honest. Jesus imitates the Father in this and tries to teach each of us to act and speak honestly. We will be more like Nathaniel, the disciple, if we do this. Jesus calls us to the simpler way of living, the way which is not complicated and difficult. We can only be this type of person when we rely on Jesus for help. When we speak to Jesus honestly concerning our sorrows, pains, joys, accomplishments, we will know that all we are, do, and say has come from God.
Take time to be with Jesus today. Be at ease, present your needs with honesty, and you will know the peace that is yours in abundance.
