1Kings 3:5, 7-12 | Ps. 119:57, 72, 76-77, 127-130 | Rom. 8:28-30 | Mt. 13:44-52
Solomon asks God for Wisdom and receives it in fullness. If we ask for gifts which will benefit our neighbor, we will be blessed as well. Paul tells us that God’s love for us is so great that He will provide all we need in order to enjoy eternal life. Jesus continues to tell us stories about the Kingdom of Heaven. It is as if Jesus attempts to teach us by any and every means so that at some point we will get the message. One of the most important messages today is that we should value the kingdom so much that we would be willing to sacrifice everything else for it. We are invited to seek God’s ways above all else just as Solomon did. We may not have what the world considers important, but we will indeed possess all that will enable us to enjoy the kingdom of heaven.
Reflect on what is important in your life. How do these items help you to gain the Kingdom of Heaven? Do you need to change your desires? Do you need to change your actions? How will you do so?
