Zec. 9:9-10 | Ps. 145:1-2, 8-14 | Rom. 8:9, 11-13 | Mt. 11:25-30
Life is given to us through God’s spirit which dwells in each and every one of us. We are invited today to truly live in that Spirit. If we do so, we will live in God as God lives in us. Jesus calls to come to Him, and He promises that He will give us rest. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Paul echoes this when he reminds us that if we live by the spirit, we will live indeed; but, if we live by the flesh, then we shall die. Christ came as one who was meek and humble. Living according to this Spirit, we may find that we have to surrender some things but we will live with Christ forever.
How wonderful it is to hear the words of Christ: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart; and, you will find rest for yourselves.” Take time to hear Christ say these words to you. Let them penetrate the core of your being. Respond with love.
