Wis. 7:22b-8:1 | Ps. 119:89-91, 130, 135, 175 | Lk. 17:20-25
Today we hear that Wisdom surpasses everything and is in everything that is good. We also hear Jesus say: “The kingdom of God is here in your midst.” What Jesus wants us to know is that God, through the Holy Spirit, dwells within each of us. This Spirit grants us the gift of Wisdom which enables us to see that God’s Spirit is in our midst and thus the kingdom of God is now. By living with the Holy Spirit, allowing ourselves to be led by this Spirit, we learn how to live within the Kingdom of God. We are called to recognize that the Kingdom of God is already in our midst. We are called to live each minute of our lives out of the realization that the Kingdom is in our midst. Truly our world would be changed if each one of us reflected the Kingdom of God to everyone.
Pause to consider what it means when Jesus tells us: “The Kingdom of God is here in your midst.” What does this mean to you? How will you live out this statement?
