Is. 25:6-10a | Ps. 23:1-6 | Phil. 4:12-14, 19-20 | Mt. 22:1-14
The scriptures speak about the kingdom and how God provides all that is needed to enjoy the kingdom and its feast. Isaiah assures us that God will provide all the food we need. He also promises us that God will take care of all those things that prevent us from full enjoyment of the feast. Paul gives examples to the Phillipians of how God has provided for him in good times and in bad times. Finally, the Gospel tells the parable about those who are called to the banquet.
We have been invited to God’s banquet. We may respond in the same manner that so many others did. God will continue to go out and invite others to the banquet. God provides all the proper attire to attend. The man who refused the garments was thrown out. God continues to invite us and to provide all we need. It is our call to respond.
Think over your life. How may you have refused to go to the banquet? Why? What have you changed? How might you still change?
