Rm. 8:12-17 | Ps 68:2, 4, 6-7, 20-21 | Lk. 13:10 -17
The Spirit has set us free. Paul tells us that because of this great gift, we are no longer slaves to sin. This is what Jesus reiterates quite dramatically in the Gospel today. The woman who has had an illness for eighteen years has been cured by Jesus. Those who recognize this great deed, including the woman, give thanks and praise to God. They have been freed from their infirmities. Those who refuse to see God’s great gifts at work in Jesus remain bound to their own selves. Because of their desire to be the ones in control, they criticize and try to accuse Jesus of not abiding by the law of the Sabbath.
Jesus came to heal us and grant us the freedom of the Spirit. Where/how are you not free? Ask Jesus to heal you and to grant you the freedom you need to hear and respond to His Word. Accept the gift Jesus offers you today. Live in Peace and Joy.
