Col. 1:24 –2:3 | Ps. 62:6-7, 9 | Lk. 6:6-11
Commitment and enthusiasm are at the core of the readings. Paul is so filled with His love for Christ that his enthusiasm oozes out of him in every direction. This is what Jesus is all about. He is consumed with His love of God and the love of people. The opposite is at work in the Pharisees who are more committed to being recognized as the leaders of the Jewish people. Thus, they are blocked from seeing the goodness of Jesus and His love for people. Jesus heals
people despite the criticism of the Jews and their desire to get rid of Him.
What motivates you? How much are you committed to your baptismal call to go and make disciples of all people? Has the Love of God penetrated your being? Take time to reflect on Paul’s enthusiasm for Christ. How is God calling you to come closer? Spend time with Christ today.
