Col. 1:21-23 | Ps. 54:3-4, 6-8 | Lk. 6:1-5
Have you ever wondered why someone does something which is obviously against the rules and regulations and then found yourself doing the same thing? I have, and I think most of us have. Today, we see the Pharisees in a similar stance of criticism. They are watching with “eagle eyes” to catch the apostles and Jesus in an unlawful action. Then they use this information against Jesus. Jesus reminds them and us that sometimes, we need to be more concerned about people than maintaining the law. Love has the ability to go beyond the moment and to see people’s needs and to take care of them. That is what Jesus teaches us today.
Take time to examine how concerned you are about loving others through all events. Wouldn’t our whole world be better off if we lived a life of love? What area of your life could be improved? How will you begin?
