All Souls Day

Readings: Wis. 3:1-9 | Ps. 23:1-6 | Rom. 5:5-11 | Jn. 6:37-40

Today, the church remembers all those who have died and are awaiting their entrance into heaven. The church encourages us to pray for them. Paul reminds us that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Christ’s love is so strong that he was willing to do this for us. If we live in imitation of Christ, we shall also live in glory with Him in heaven.

Jesus reminds us that it is God’s will that none who have been given to Jesus will be lost. Jesus assures us that those who believe in Him and follow His teachings will have eternal life. We are called to live each day according to the will of God.

Bring those whom you have loved to memory. Ask Jesus to grant them eternal rest and peace with Him in Heaven.
