Saturday of the Thirty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Readings: Rv. 22:1-7 | Ps. 95:1-7b | Lk. 21:34-369
The reading from Revelations tells us the beauty that awaits those who are faithful in following the Lamb of God. The reward is to live in the city of Light and Life. Jesus also reminds us of what we should do so that we are not weighed down or concerned about the things of this world. Jesus tells us to be alert and to pray for all the strength and courage we need to be faithful to the end. We are assured that if we are faithful to Him and rely on Him, then we will be with Him in the end as well. Sometimes the lure of the goods of our world catches our attention and we become caught up in them. Remaining faithful we will be brought back to Jesus.
Continue to pray with Scripture today. Follow yesterday’s pattern of prayer, listening and following the directions of God. Ask for the grace to follow the inspiration of the Spirit found through the Scripture.
