Tuesday of the First Week of Advent

Is. 11:1-10 | Ps. 72:1, 7-8, 12-13, 17 | Lk. 10:21-24

Isaiah expounds on what the Kingdom of God will look like when the Messiah comes.  We know this passage almost by heart.  Perhaps we are too familiar with it and need to listen to the words as though we have never heard them before.  Isaiah tells us that it is the little child who will lead us.  As we continue our Advent journey we might ask ourselves: How do I allow the little child to lead me?   Jesus reminds us that He has come to reveal the Father to us. “ No one knows the Father, except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”  Jesus has chosen to reveal the Father to us.  We are the ones who must respond.  We are able to listen with new ears, with the ears of the child, that is, with great openness and trust, and thus bring Christ to the World or we may choose to do the opposite.

Take time to reflect on these scriptures.  How does God touch your heart, your life through them?  How will you respond?
