Readings: Eph. 6:10-20 | Ps. 144:1-2, 9-10 | Lk. 13:31-35
The reading from Ephesians teaches us how to dress in order to be secure under the attacks of evil and the evil spirit. Imagine dressing yourself with the armor of a knight and consider putting on each virtue as the knight would dress in his armor. If we attempt to walk each day by living and practicing these virtues, then we will be ready to face all attacks. The Gospel shows how Jesus did that very thing by withstanding all the threats of the Pharisees, Herod, and all others who were out to kill him. Jesus expresses His sorrow over being rejected when He utters His prayer over Jerusalem.
Today, choose one of these scripture passages with which to pray. Imagine yourself being a part of the scene and ask for the grace to practice the virtues each day of your life. Pray especially for the virtue you feel you need most.
