Readings: Job 42:1-3, 5-6, 12-17 | Ps. 119:66, 71, 75, 91, 125, 130 | Lk. 10:17-24
Praise is the gift of today’s readings. Job stands before God and tells Him that he realizes how insignificant he is in relationship to God. He realizes that he can do nothing outside of the goodness and greatness of God. The disciples return from their journey of preaching and are elated that demons were subject to them. Jesus tells them not to rejoice in their actions but rather to rejoice and give thanks to the Holy Spirit who has brought about all these good deeds through them. We are called to recognize that it is the Spirit who acts in us to bring about good.
Take time to be with Jesus and Job and recognize that the Holy Spirit works in you. Give thanks to God for all the ways that God has been with you. Ask for the grace to be faithful to the Holy Spirit who will guide and direct you.
