Looking for a way to spend time in prayer?
Would You Like to Get Closer to God?

Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent
Wis. 2:1a, 12-22 | Ps. 34:17-21, 23 | Jn. 7:1-2, 10, 25-30
The book of Wisdom tells us that those who act according to God’s ways may not be accepted by others. Those who do evil judge according to their own manner of acting and ridicule others who try to do good. This type of judging has not changed. Today, people still ridicule those who do good deeds and act with justice. We see the same thing reflected in the gospel as the Pharisees and others view the good actions of Christ. Their response is to ridicule, criticize and denounce Christ. Their ultimate desire is to kill Jesus. Because this is not the time appointed, they are unable to harm Jesus.
How much do you criticize those who try to do good and bring others to God? Do you listen to the voices of criticism or do you listen to those who invite you to join them in bringing about good? Take time to reflect on Christ’s call. How will you respond?
