Wednesday of the Twenty Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Ezra 9:5-9 | Ps. Tb. 13:2-4, 7-8 | Lk. 9:1-6

Jesus calls His disciples together.  He blesses them and gives them power to expel demons.  He tells them to take nothing with them but go to the people and teach them.  If some do not accept them, they are to leave, shake the dust from their feet and move on.  What Christ is asking the disciples is to accept the blessing He gives them and to trust God to provide for them wherever they go.  Trust is the important element.  How well do you trust God on a daily basis to provide for all your needs?

Spend time in prayer as you begin your day.  Ask God for the trust you need to carry out His work.  When you start to lose trust, remember the apostles and begin again.  Go out to bring the Good News to all.
