Saturday of the Twenty Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Zec. 2:5-9, 14-15a | Ps. Jer. 31:10-13 | Lk. 9:43b-45

Zephaniah is telling the people of Judah that they shall be like Sodom and Gomorrah because of their sins and their refusal to listen to God’s call to change and repent.  We are all invited to listen to God’s call to change.  Each day we are given a new chance to live for and with God.  Each day God shines the beauty of life upon us to enable us to see and know God’s love for us.  That love is exhibited in the Gospel.  Jesus tells His disciples that He is to be handed over to men, meaning that He will be crucified.  Indeed, we all know this great act of love that God has done for us.  We are asked to live each day with love and in love so that God will be made known to others through us.

Take time today to reflect on your response to God’s love for you.  How are you living for God?  How can you do so more fully?
